It’s raining.  That’s not unusual for Washington State, even in June.  It’s not the best weather for a dog show, but we can deal with it.

What?  They moved the Bichons from an inside ring to an outside ring??  Piper has to show on the grass???  (You may remember this is not her preferred surface.)

Happy Surprise!!  She did great and got a 3 point major.  You go girl!

Simon spent three days with Team Gignac over the weekend in Nanaimo and won the Non-Sporting Group all three days!! Simon was the only dog at the show to be in the Best in Show ring each day. Alas, no big ribbon this time….but he is getting sooooo close!!Pat Gignac & Simon in the BIS Ring

On Saturday and Sunday (Puyallup and Tacoma KC shows) Rosie was Select Bitch both days (2 pts. each day). Rosie’s Grand Champion points are adding up.

After a couple hard knocks in the breed ring on previous days, Simon managed a Best of Breed win on Sunday and went onto a Group 2 under Judge Seamus Oates.  Thank you everyone in the local Bichon community for all their support on that day.   It was certainly heart warming.

Simon was Select Dog on Sat. and Best of Breed on Sunday

Rosie was Best Opposite on Sat. and Select on Sunday (the grand champion points are adding up!)

Piper was…….a different story!  The show was outdoors.  Piper thought,  “Grass is not for dog shows.  Grass is for lying down, sitting down and rubbing your face.”  She was a happy but unrewarded Bichon.
