CH Absolutely Agape Cute As A Bug’s Ear DCAT TKN VSWB

At our recent Bichon specialty we were invited to enter the Parade of Titleholders category.  Since I’m proud that Junebug is the first dog I have owned who has titles before and after her name, I entered her.  The CH means she is a champion.  The DCAT is given because she has run the 100 yd. dash enough times, at a fast enough pace. TKN stands for trick dog novice, and VSWB is virtual scent work beginner.

I was busy reading the information about the seven dogs who entered the Parade, so Junebug’s best friend, Doug, walked her around the ring as she received applause from the crowd.

The Absolutely group had a very fun weekend in Kennewick WA at the Tri-Cities dog show.  Grooming and showing were all done outdoors.  We managed with 3 “tents” and a motor home.  We had wind, we had cold weather, we had sunshine, we had rain, we had more wind.

It was a busy weekend, as there were 5 FastCat runs and 4 conformation shows.

This is part of our set up. Sheri is grooming Fiona, while Burrito looks on.

11 of “our” dogs participated and had great success.  Vera is not so sure she loves the conformation ring.  Her happy place is playing with her buddies.

Junebug ran FastCat and earned her second title in that event. She also participated in conformation shows and was awarded Select two days.

At our local Bichon specialty show, we added the bred by exhibitor special attraction category.  Only the person(s) who bred and own the dog can take the dog in the ring.

Junebug, affectionately known by many as “BUG” was at a disadvantage since I was the person responsible for showing her.   She made me proud!

Junebug competed in Fast Cat competition in Lynden, WA.  Fast Cat is basically a 100 yard dash for dogs.  The show must go on, rain or shine.  Today it was RAIN!

Junebug and her BFF Doug. Doug didn’t want her to get cold.

She worked hard and achieved her American Championship. Junebug is a fun and funny little girl.  Thanks, Tasheena, for loving her, showing her and taking such good care of her.

Sometimes trying to take pictures of the dogs can be very frustrating–the dogs are looking in different directions, the people are struggling to get the dogs to pay attention and look good for the pictures–this is about as good a picture as we could get of the 3 Saturday winners.  Junebug on the left, then Burrito and Johnny on the right.

How fast?  How much fun can I have?

At Junebug’s first time Fast Cat competition, she ran the 100 yd. dash in 19.28 seconds! This is her new favorite activity.
