Junebug is changing daily.  Her personality is beginning to show.  She has always been a content puppy and an easy puppy to raise. Violet has decided she has put in enough time nursing and she has cut off the supply.  Fortunately, Junebug has taken to her puppy food and seems to enjoy it.  Litter box training began this week.  Teeth are coming in.

Junebug’s toy lamb looks like a littermate. It’s a favorite toy and she enjoys climbing over, chewing on the ears and shaking it. I take some of her toys and simulate the playtime she would enjoy if she had littermates.  Other toys include a teeter totter.  It’s a big hit.  Mother Violet is watching from a distance.

I scissored “mounds” of hair from this little girl. Obviously I missed some wild ones on top of her head!  She weighs 1 lb. 12.4 oz.

Junebug is three weeks old today.  She has completed her neurological stimulation exercises.  She gets her nails cut every Tues. (She’s actually pretty cooperative).  Her pigment is slow to come in, but it’s coming.  She has so much hair that she needs a haircut already.

Firsts this week:
1. A move to the living room area for part of each day.
2. puppy growls
3. biting and shaking her toys
4. walking around much more and being more aware of her surroundings
5. ears are opening and she hears certain noises

It’s bittersweet to say good-bye to a puppy. Bridget is one who really tugs at the heart strings. It’s sad to say farewell…..but “sweet” to see how happy she is making her new family.

Janet and Mike have been waiting for a puppy for a long time. Bridget is the perfect match!

Since Junebug has no littermates, she gets this lamb as a substitute. She likes to snuggle next to, beside, under and on top of the lamb.

Junebug has no littermates, so instead she gets to snuggle with this fluffy lamb and other toys.

Although her eyes are partially opened, she can’t focus well.

Junebug spends her time eating (and eating) and sleeping. Yesterday she got a bigger “playpen” to encourage her to move around more. Sbe does neurological stimulation exercises every day. You can google that. It’s quite interesting.

My granddaughter was helping me with some computer issues.  (Thank you, Nora!!)  and Bridget was sure Nora needed her help.

I’ve never had a singleton puppy in a litter until now. Violet delivered a robust little girl June 1. Violet is feeling very proud of herself.

This is our new baby girl. She has no problem finding the milk supply (and is gaining weight).
