Christmas Eve Elves?

The little girl puppies are 2 weeks old and things are beginning to change–and the changes will come faster and faster as the weeks go by. This week their eyes are more open–they are pulling themselves up on their legs and moving around more. Small toys will be introduced soon and there will be some interaction among the pups.

Red girl (above) is either sleepy or her eyes aren’t fully open, but she is steadily gaining weight–trying to catch up with her sisters.

Green girl’s eyes are more open now and she can be really fast to move around the crate. At this time I think Green is the most mellow and easiest to work with–I’m sure that will change (unfortunately).
Blue girl is still the largest (weighing in at a little over 1 pound)–none of these pups are big so it is going to be interesting to see how they turn out. Green’s eyes aren’t fully open and she has strong opinions about what she likes and doesn’t like–and when trimming their nails she was quick to voice her displeasure.

    Little Christmas babies. Always fun to see the pups when their eyes open. Out of curiosity, how much typically do pups weigh at this age? I had to laugh about Blue girls voice – Rose has a screech that could break glass.

      Birth weights are all over the place–small would be 3 or 4 oz. and large 8+. Pups generally gain weight daily and I’m seeing that now in the little girls. Last night (Sunday night) Red girl had a good night and gained 1+ ounces.
