Picture day!

The pups are now eating three or four meals a day. They like their food and are gaining at a good pace.

We’re still practicing with the brush and comb. Other things to de-sensitize them for future grooming are rubbing their feet and pulling a few hairs from their ears. This should make these tasks easier for them and for their groomer.

They enjoy running around the house (with supervision). Today they “helped” me fluff up the Christmas tree.

Sometimes the Green Boy will enjoy time by himself. I’ll see him sleeping or playing away from his family.
The Gray boy is still the largest and in many ways the most advanced. It was not his best day for picture taking. He looks startled.
Blue boy is the climber in the bunch. This week he learned to climb stairs (only 2). The trip up was more successful than the trip back down.
Pink Girl must be exhausted from all her help. She’s on the step ladder in front of the Christmas tree and she’s so tired she can’t keep her head up.
Orange Girl. She needs a name. Any suggestions?

  1. These pictures just make me smile. It’s super you are preparing them for grooming. They’ll be getting a lot of that! I spent Thanksgiving with my 92 year old great aunt. Her name is Happy and she is always happy. Maybe a name for Orange girl is Happy. 😀

    • Thank you for the suggestion. I’m sure your Aunt was very “Happy” to spend Thanksgiving with you.

      • Oh! This has been my first opportunity to watch any Absolutely Bichon puppies grow and change from birth with weekly updates. I look forward to seeing them and hearing about their progress. It’s really positive and uplifting to check in on them every week. I love that they “helped you” with the Christmas tree! How fun!!!

  2. Hi Sue, I love their sixth week birthday picture, they just get cuter by the week. I was just looking at them again and noticed that the images for Green and Blue are absolutely identical, the color spots, the curves in their little bodies all the same. Do they really look identical or is it accidentally the same image? How did they enjoy their first Thanksgiving? Donald and I had dinner alone but we surrounded ourselves with family pictures on the table. It’s so nice having them their that I have decided to just let them be there. I made 4 pumpkin chiffon pies so each family would have our traditional dessert. Oops, I forgot this is the Bichons Blog, not our family blog. Hugs to those beautiful puppies and you, Jo Anne

  3. Haha. Joanne, you are absolutely correct. That picture is of Blue Boy (I think 🙂 ) Looking back through the pictures, I cannot tell which picture is of Green Boy. I’ll get it right for the 7 week pictures.

The puppies enjoyed their kibble and puppy mousse for Thanksgiving….no turkey.

  4. Aw… Gray Boy. That face!

  5. Looking forward to week 7! Any cute group images? It must be fun to watch them all have playtime together on these beautiful sunny days!
